About Greentime

We make it inspiring to create sustainable events

Since the start of the company 2014, Greentime has been a driving force for sustainability in the events industry. Our journey began with a vision to make sustainability work both structured and inspiring. Today, we have developed the market’s most comprehensive tool for sustainable events and support both large and small organizers in Sweden and internationally.

Our holistic approach to sustainability

Since concepts such as sustainability and sustainable development can be perceived as very extensive and complex, it can be helpful to have definitions. We at Greentime start from the holistic perspective where the three dimensions of sustainability; environmental, social and economic, must be integrated and interact for a sustainable society to be achieved.

Environmentally

As the temperature of our planet rises, so do the demands of our decision-makers through climate targets, climate reporting and laws. Visitors also expect more from the environment.

We simply have to move away from our dependence on fossil fuels, stop using harmful chemicals, stop squeezing ecosystems while ensuring that people’s needs are met.

We listen to research, of course, and follow, among other things, Johan Rockström’s work on “The sustainable limits of the planet

Social

The social aspect of sustainability has several different angles. It can involve basic human rights, such as the right to participate in an event without being discriminated against. It can also mean choosing local suppliers, labor or volunteers for your event. Make your event something that local people can enjoy and take pride in, and you’ll get great marketing out of it.

Organizational and financial

Economic sustainability is a man-made structure and therefore has a wider scope of interpretation. We have chosen to focus on the economy as a tool to achieve environmental and social sustainability. Taking a circular approach by minimizing purchases, reusing, renting and borrowing materials saves money and is better for the environment. Making choices that counteract corruption and unsustainable working conditions strengthens social sustainability globally.
